The Soothsayland military is divided into three sections...
I. The Army
The Soothsayland army is the branch of the military responsible for land-based military missions and is infantry oriented. It is the largest branch of the military. The army usually makes up a little less than half of the entire militarty in numbers. The army consists of eight divisions; 4 infantry, 2 cavalry and 2 airborne. Soothsayer also promotes a very large and formitable militia in case of invasion by issuing firearms and funding basic military training seminars. The tactits of the Soothsayland army are very much guerrilla oriented and in battle, soldiers often fight in small, micromanaged squads for maximum tactical flexibility. Soothsayer also maintains very prestigious special ops forces.
2. The Navy
The navy is the branch of the military which handles sea-based operations. The Soothsayland navy is comprised of many different types of battle, scouting and transport ships. Submarine warfare is also a crucial component of the navy. The Navy is currently the second largest branch in the military, and makes up about a fourth to a third of the military in numbers. The Navy also plays the role as coast guard which is very important for Soothsayer's island setting. The largest naval base can be found in the coastal city of Rogeth which is usually presides over the eastern half of the islands sea space and a slightly smaller naval base in Altamos covers the west coast.
3. The Air Force
The air force is generally the smallest branch of the military, as it makes about a fifth of the armed forces in numbers, though that figure has been growing faster than any of the other groups. The air force is responsible for air-based military operations including espionage, bombing, transport and air to air combat. In modern times, following significant recent technological advantage, the air force has been extended to encompass space missions as well, both for military and exploratory purposes, where they work in conjecture with the Soothsayer Space Association (SSA)
